Step onto the Writer’s Path (online - live sessions)

Need a nudge to finally put pen to paper or fingers to keyboard? This course is for you. Classes will focus on sharing easy-to-access writing resources and practical activities designed to help you feel comfortable writing, so you can find your story. Sessions will include an introduction to the creative process, how to find ideas to write about, how to develop those ideas, and understanding genre basics. Classes will not be recorded as this is meant to be a safe and gentle space for you to find your creative groove, without any pressure to perform.

When: May 2025 - Online (via Google Meet). We meet Tuesday evenings from 7:30-8:30 PM EST (May. 6, May. 13, May. 20, May. 27) for a total of four sessions. Max 8 participants per class.

Read like a Writer (online - live sessions)

Stephen King said, “Reading is the creative center of a writer’s life.” Reading is key; it can offer glimpses into new worlds and alternate perspectives, and spark your creativity. But what does it mean to read like a writer? If you want to learn how to decipher the deeper meaning behind why a character struggles to speak her mind, or the reason a story is set in a rural town versus the big city, then this course is for you. Using short readings, classes will focus on asking questions, examining author choice, sharing perspectives, and making links to your own writing. Classes will not be recorded as this is meant to be a safe and gentle space for you to find your creative groove, without any pressure to perform.

When: June. 2025 - Online (via Google Meet). We meet Tuesday evenings from 7:30-8:30 PM EST (Apr. 3, Apr. 10, Apr. 17, Apr. 24) for a total of four sessions. Max 8 participants per class.

I offer in-person classes for groups of 8 or more participants, generally in the Grey Bruce and surrounding areas, though I am open to a wider location if desired. Contact me for more info.
